Elegant stenciling of the front staircase of The Queen's Residence B & B

Past guests, Michael and Kathy Romeo, of Michael J. Romeo & Associates, came
from Cleveland Heights, Ohio to "redress" what was a very plain wall
ascending our front staircase. In just three days, with some time off for
some sight-seeing, Mike and Kathy created a beautiful period-appropriate
stencil, deepened the wall color and added two foot gold metallic stencils.
We couldn't be happier with the outcome, it is quite stunning!  Let us know
what you think!

The Queen;s Residence Hoag Room

Bold, opulent and dramatic best describes the Hoag room from the massive king sleigh bed to the ceiling to floor drapes and crystal chandelier.  This spacious room is done in rich oranges, browns and golds with massive artwork gracing the walls. There is a three person art deco  down sofa as well as a comfy arm chair giving the room  enough seating to entertain a few guests or to relax upon while reading or watching television.  The private entrance to the veranda is a special bonus.  There is an impressive 1800’s barrel roll top desk which makes this a perfect room for pleasure or business.  The ensuite bathroom features a stunning walk-in marble shower.  Two splendid backlit stained glass windows, one over the shower door and one over the marble vanity, add to the luxurious character of the room.

The Gibson Suite

This weekend we opened the new room. We hope our guests enjoy it as much as we did putting it together.

Sunday, June 23, 2013

Tomorrow we start putting in the shower for the new Hoag Room. The Hoag room will be located on the main floor with a private entrance from the veranda. A king size sleigh bed is on the way and Marla is going in to Ann Arbor shortly to pick out tile that will compliment the style of the Queen’s Residence Bed and Breakfast

YPSILANTI April 29, 2013 -- For the second consecutive year, The Queen's Residence Bed & Breakfast has been selected for the 2013 Best of Ypsilanti Award in the Bed & Breakfast Accommodations category by the Ypsilanti Award Program.
Each year, the Ypsilanti Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Ypsilanti area a great place to live, work and play.
Nationwide, only 1 in 70 (1.4%) 2013 Award recipients qualified as Two-Time Award Winners. Various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2013 Ypsilanti Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Ypsilanti Award Program and data provided by third parties.
